    Ride Across the French Pyrenees - Coast to Coast - and Back !

    1000 miles, 94000 ft climbing, 12 days riding + 2 rest days.

    The hotels for this trip are 2 star hotels. Over the years I have been able to find "mom and pop" hotels that will provide comfortable rooms and a local country feel particular to the region of the Pyrenees. Each hotel is different, as these are not chain hotels, but family fun facilities, often with their own restaurants. For instance, the hotel outside of Oloron, in Gurmencon, is run by a family originally from the Alsace region of France. The husband and proprietor is also a trained chef from the Cordon Bleu cooking school in Paris. Needless to say, the restaurant at this hotel is its own attraction.
