Come see some of the same pro-cyclists who raced in the Tour de France race in the professional Criterium de Castillon bike race, held on the first Tuesday of every August. The Chateau de Pitray, located 35 miles east of Bordeaux, is nestled in the middle of its estate grounds, surrounded by fields, woods, and off in the distance its vineyards. In all the estate is 200 acres, and when you are at the chateau you have the impression of being far away from everything in an exclusive setting. The comment I hear so often from friends is that it is a very quiet, peaceful and relaxing place. The splendour and beauty of the property is magnificent.
I love these stats: 1000 miles, 100,000 feet climbing, 12 days of riding. Ride across the Pyrenees, coast to coast and back. Now that is a bike ride with some bragging rights, and something unique that only a few cyclists will ever accomplish. Anyone who can lay claim to that is revered. Does it make you envious?
